Welcome to Llwynypia Communities First

Communities First is a Welsh Assembly Government initiative which has been introduced to regenerate areas of need.  One such area is Llwynypia.

Llwynypia is situated in the Mid Rhondda Fawr area and in the Welsh Index of Multiple Deprivation it ranks the ward as the fifth worst in Rhondda Cynon Taff.  That said as a community Llwynypia has many strengths, which includes its community members.

The Llwynypia Communities First aims to bring about lasting improvement through a series of community development projects and events.

Partnership 

The community regeneration of the ward of Llwynypia will be undertaken through the process of community consultation and planning of sustainable programmes of development.

These programmes take various shapes and form ranging from open access playschemes for young people to a major project which is the restoration of the grade 2 listed Powerhouse building in Llwynypia.

All these programmes have a major feature in common - they all need community involvement to succeed and make a difference!
